The key things we had our eyes out for were:Ĭonsistency of performances across different versions The conversations were recorded at different speeds and backgrounds to get an idea of how it performs in different circumstances, how background noises affect its voice recognition and accuracy, and when its performance is optimal. We tested Otter.ai’s performance by conducting test meetings with different speakers and uploading audio files to transcribe them. Our goal for this review was to test Otter.ai’s key features as transcription and meeting management software on its free and premium plans to evaluate its performance on the web, Chrome extension, and mobile versions. The automatic speech recognition technology Otter uses is similar to that of a few other transcription services like Airgram, Happy Scribe, and Scribe. Otter also has the ability to differentiate between different speakers by recognizing the characteristics of voices. You can build a custom vocabulary to improve the transcription accuracy. Otter uses AI natural language processing technology to convert human speech into text, thus eliminating the process of manual note-taking. The app has web, Chrome extension, mobile (Android and iOS) versions, and free to custom pricing plans. However, it included new features in 2022 for its Business and Enterprise account users to make Otter.ai a one-stop app for meeting management that allows people to take notes and collaborate with co-workers in a meeting. Is Otter transcription accurate (actual test) This Otter.ai review will demonstrate how these are achieved and answer all your questions about the product, including: For example, you can keep more accurate meeting records, work asynchronously, and improve the participation of people who are deaf or hard of hearing in conversations. This forms the primary offering of many transcription and meeting management services like Otter.ai, which deploys this technology to solve the time-consuming and high cost of manual transcription.Īutomated transcriptions also create opportunities for more efficient and inclusive work. If you couldn't, there's always the chance your phone will sneak into the minimum requirements once the game is properly optimized. If you played during the alpha or beta tests, you're good to go. The better news is that they're subject to change in the future as optimizations are implemented. The good news is that they're relatively tame. Ahead of the second PUBG New State alpha test period last year, developer Krafton announced the PUBG New State requirements your phone or tablet will need to meet or exceed to be able to handle the next-gen PUBG Mobile experience. The gunplay system, too, has been completely redesigned thanks to these new graphical enhancements – you can check it out in action via the tweet below.January 25, 2022: The PUBG New State requirements haven't changed.Īre you ready for PUBG New State? You're about to find out. New State uses a state-of-the-art rendering technology to bring its mobile gaming experience on a level with the PC version of PUBG, employing features like global illumination, auto instancing and auto-exposure. The developer also promised "ultra-realistic graphics that push the limits of mobile gaming," and that claim holds up from gameplay we've seen and played so far. You can also now customize weapons in-game, in a manner similar to Apex Legends’ dynamic modification mechanic. In both the trailer and gameplay reveal, we spotted drones that deliver loot, deployable combat shields – similar to those we've seen in Call of Duty: Mobile Season 3 – and shiny new weapons, alongside new vehicles including TRON-like bikes. With this new futuristic setting comes a suitably-futuristic array of new gadgets, too. Interestingly, the game also launched with three other maps, including the aforementioned fan-favorite Erangel, which has been “updated with futuristic twists” for New State, specifically. You can also see a complete top-down view of the new environment here. Here, you'll find details of the new map in full. The map is 8 x 8, a similar size to Erangel and Miramar from the mainline PUBG game, and features plenty of locations for gamers to explore including a town hall, restaurants and a shopping mall. Taking place in 2051 on a new map – an area called Troi – players can expect to navigate a sprawling town with a mix of suburban living and more natural areas. The first obvious departure from current PUBG titles, which are all set in the present day, is the new futuristic setting in PUBG: New State. In many ways, the mobile version of PUBG has eclipsed its bigger brother, particularly in terms of revenue (it was the highest grossing mobile game in May 2020), so it makes sense that the original creators of the game are placing more emphasis on its clearly-profitable mobile player-base. Interestingly, the game was developed by PUBG Studios (the makers of the original PC hit) rather than Tencent, the team behind PUBG Mobile. PUBG: New State has added several new features to the existing battle royale formula that helped put the original game on the map, which we’ll detail below, but it still looks very much like the traditional PUBG experience we’ve come to know and love. The main difference to the original mobile-only game (and, for that matter, the console equivalent) is its futuristic setting: the game takes place in 2051 on a new map called Troi, and has appropriately advanced weapons and perks. Rather, it’s a new battle royale game exclusive to Android and iOS, following the release of PUBG Mobile in 2018 and PUBG Mobile Lite in 2020, the latter of which has since been discontinued. What is it?įirst off, it’s worth clarifying that PUBG: New State is not PUBG 2 (hence why we’re hesitant to call it a sequel). Here's how you can download for Android, and you can also down it on iPhone and iPad here. Like its predecessor, though, PUBG: New State is littered with purchasable in-game content like skins, weapons and future expansions. In terms of price, the game is be free-to-play. One Android Police reporter was able to capture a whole hour of gameplay ahead of time, though (which you'll find here), so we already had a pretty good idea of how PUBG: New State would play. Similar to the prior set, both teams went back and forth taking the lead. The Blazers made their way to the board with a kill from Mia Reese. The second set began with a kill from Burke followed by a kill from McDonough. The final point of the match was claimed by McDonough for her eighth kill on the day. Points 22 and 23 came from kills by Bryant and Frank quickly accompanied by an ace from Burke for the 24th point. The Blazers and the Texans took turns leading the set. Tarleton State quickly responded by adding three consecutive points to the board with kills from Burke, Bryant and Mary Kate Stasevich. UAB tallied another point with a kill from Kelsey Smith. A kill from Fitzmaurice helped the Texans find their way to the board. Set one began with the Blazers taking the first point after a kill from Jay Collins. In their second match of the day, Tarleton State went head-to-head with the host, the UAB Blazers. Theurer led the Texans with 22 digs accompanied by 11 from Fitzmaurice and 10 from Ching, her new season-high. Hodges compiled 24 assists to lead the team, Charlize Ching sat second with 21, her new season-high, and Theurer tallied five of her own. Breanna McDonough and Burke tied for most blocks on the team with three a piece and Madison Frank claimed two blocks as well. Burke led the team with three aces and Matti Theurer compiled two aces for the match. Bryant led the team with 15 kills on the match, followed by Burke with 13 and 10 from Fitzmaurice. Tarleton State totaled 55 kills on the match with 20 in the first set, 16 in set two and a third set that saw 19. The Purple and White tallied points 24 and 25 with kills from Kenzie Kellerman and Megan Hodges for their first, but not their final sweep of the day. In another back-and-forth frame, the Lions took the lead for a good portion of the set until two kills from Burke and a kill from Fitzmaurice put Tarleton State in the lead. The Texans quickly put up two points of their own with a kill from Fitzmaurice and an error from Texas A&M-Commerce. In set three, the Lions claimed the first two points with a kill from Kitana Tuufuli and a service ace from Avery Wilks. From there, both teams battled back and forth but the Purple and White came out on top 25-23 with a kill from Bryant to finish out set two. Texas A&M-Commerce led most of the match until a four-point run by Tarleton State put the Texans in the lead, 19-17. After an attack error from the Lions, the score was 2-2. The first two points on the board came for the Lions from attack errors made by the Purple and White. From that point on, Tarleton State held onto the lead as two kills from Emma Burke ended the first set.īurke claimed the first point of the set for the Texans with a kill. Three of the six points can be attributed to three kills that were put down by Rajini Fitzmaurice. The Purple and White were down 11-7 right before a 6-0 score run that put the Texans in the lead. In the first set, the Lions tallied two points on the board before Tarleton State found their way with a kill from Allison Bryant. The Texans kicked off their run in Birmingham with a victory over the Lions of Texas A&M-Commerce. In day one of the Blazer Classic, Tarleton State Volleyball swept the Lions of Texas A&M-Commerce and the host, the UAB Blazers. BIRMINGHAM, Alabama – Tarleton State finishes day one of the Blazer Classic with two wins. The mobile interfaces are also very restricting when they don't allow you to do what you want to do. The mobile interfaces are very convenient when they're convenient. At iHeart, we are on a journey to reimagine the world of media for tomorrow. The more we move over to a mobile controlled ecosystem the less we will be able to do with our data and media playback. The whole mobile app ecosystem is like wearing a straightjacket that always limits what you can do. It is not possible to do the same type of search on the mobile app. For example, if I want to browse all of the high-res files I have that are 192,000 Hz I can do that easily on the laptop running JRiver Media Center. The laptop allows me to do advanced searches that the mobile device interfaces just do not allow. JRiver Media Center is a 'jukebox'-style media player, like iTunes, which usually uses most of the screen to display a potentially very large library of files. However, when I want to do real big boy management and searches of my library I have to use the laptop running Windows. The mobile style interfaces work OK when all I want to do is basic browsing of my library and basic control of what is playing now. Mobile device interfaces are always restricting compared to what you can accomplish and do on a real computer like a full laptop or desktop. The big problem I have with mobile devices is that the interfaces are like being at best handcuffed, at worst straightjacketed in a Houdini escape act. On the 12" screen this kinda works, on the 7" screen I can convince myself that the interface almost works, on a 5" phone screen it doesn't work well. This is comprehensive media center software with extensive options and tools and support for audio, images, music, TV, and even DLNA network devices. A 12" screen does even better allowing me to see more albums on the screen at a time. JRiver MC was originally Media Jukebox, but the publisher has expanded the software so that it’s now a full-blown media center. Browsing a library of 5,000+ albums on a phone size screen is not my idea of good interface design. I don't like using the phone to control audio because the screen is too small to show enough to be useful. It's pretty neat that modern Chrombooks can run Android apps and function as a big tablet, even if they end up being so big thick and heavy to use comfortably as a tablet. I should add, that when I do use a mobile device to control the music I use either an old 7" android tablet or a Chromebook 12" 2-in-1 style laptop that can run Android apps and fold over to be a big fat heavy thick touchscreen tablet. |
